Meet Our Teachers (International)

Ms Chai earned a Bachelor of Arts in music with a double major in piano performance and pedagogy from the University of Western Illinois in the United States. She also studies vocal singing as a minor. She has over 30 years of experience in music, specifically piano teaching, choir singing, and stage performances for music centres' annual concerts.

Ms Chai teaches music, performing arts, and Mandarin at REAL International School's primary and secondary levels. Ms. Chai also has a talent for public speaking, having won multiple first prize awards in speech competitions in all three languages, BM, English, and Mandarin, during her schooling years. She occasionally does voice-over work for TV commercials and serves as emcee for public events.

She also pursued a Masters in Psychology Counseling, with a thesis to finish. With more knowledge in hand to better understand human psychology, she finds her teaching career much more meaningful when she can also play the role of motivating and empathising with students. She believes that students require teachers not only to teach or guide them but also to hold their hands and tell them that they are worthy.

Ms Geeta earned a diploma in English from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). She later earned a degree in English education from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). She also received her master's degree in (TESL) from UPSI. She teaches English, History, Geography and Global Perspective at the primary level at REAL International School.

Ms Geeta has three years of teaching experience at a public university. She joined REAL Schools last year because she believed in the school's reputation for producing good students. Ms Geeta is very interested in teaching English to students of various levels. She is a highly enthusiastic and passionate educator who is eager to learn and gain as much knowledge as possible.

In her free time, she enjoys reading. She also enjoys travelling because it allows her to meet new people and gain new experiences. Ms Geeta is also an active teacher who has completed certification in teaching English as a foreign language as well as translation certification (ITBM).

Ms Gokila graduated with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from Universiti Tenaga Nasional. She teaches Mathematics and Computer Science at both the primary and secondary levels at Real International & Private School. She is a highly motivated, enthusiastic educator who is eager to learn everything she can about Mathematics and Computer Science.

Ms Gokila has 18 years of experience at a private school and tuition centre, especially home tuition. She joined REAL School because she believes in the school's excellent reputation for the quality of its teaching and students' excellent behaviour. She is very interested in broadening her Mathematics and Computer Science experience and applying it by teaching her students. With her extensive education experience, she can manage her students effectively and has established strong bonds between students, parents, and teachers at school.

She usually spends her free time playing badminton and tutoring students who are struggling with a particular subject, particularly mathematics. She is also very involved at school, helping to manage the International School, Primary and Secondary Level activities. She also received an Appreciation Award from REAL School for her innitiatives in organising extra classes for Computer Science students.

Ms Michelle is our fantastic music and performing arts teacher at REAL International School, teaching both primary and secondary students. She has a Master in Education, a TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language), a CIDTT (Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers), and a Vocals Diploma (Rockschool London). She also has qualifications in piano and theory (ABRSM - The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music & Trinity Music College London).

Ms Michelle is not just an outstanding teacher; she is also a talented musician and vocalist. She is no stranger to the music industry. She is an established female vocalist whose powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence have earned her the title of one of the country's most versatile entertainers.

Ms Michelle students benefit from her extensive experience in the music industry. She knows how to inspire and motivate her students, providing them with the confidence they need to perform at their best. She is skilled at tailoring her lessons to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring that everyone is progressing at their own pace.

Ms Michelle is a foodie too. She enjoys cooking in her air fryer and experimenting with new recipes. 'Hells Kitchen' and 'Barefoot Contessa' are two of her favourite shows. Michelle believes that learning is never too late. If you want to learn a new skill or an instrument, go ahead and do it!

Ms Norzita graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (History) from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and earned a Diploma in Education from Open University Malaysia(OUM). She teaches First Language Malay subjects at the primary and secondary levels at REAL International School.

Ms Norzita has an extensive experience in the education industry, with almost 19 years of experience teaching at international schools in Malaysia, including REAL Schools. She believes in providing different needs for various learners to achieve the best learning experiences. She hopes to inspire and motivate them to achieve their potential.

Ms Norzita is well-known for her humility. She enjoys learning new things and is skilled at sewing, being able to create a wide range of designs. In her spare time, she also enjoys outdoor activities.

Ms Sugan graduated from the University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Language and Linguistics (Major in French Language). She teaches French as a foreign language at primary and secondary levels at REAL International School . She is a highly motivated and enthusiastic educator who is eager to learn and gain as much knowledge in French as possible.

Ms Sugan is a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher with over 16 years of teaching experience who is committed to assisting students in reaching their full potential. She has been teaching at REAL Schools for over six years and previously taught for ten years at a private international school. With her extensive education experience, she can effectively manage her students and has established strong bonds between students, parents, and teachers at school.

Ms Sugan is also very involved at school, taking part in various projects and activities. Her active participation in the school allows her to establish strong bonds with her students. She is also an IGCSE French teacher and an Apple Certified Teacher. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and reading.

Ms Cathrina Tsen graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Hertfordshire. She went on to complete her Master's in Education at Monash University.

Ms Cathrina Tsen is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience.Before joining REAL Schools 4 years ago, Ms Cathrina Tsen taught in kindergarten and private and international schools. Her commitment to education is undeniable, and she is always looking for ways to enhance her teaching skills to educate her students better. She also understands the importance of fostering a love for learning in young children, and she uses a variety of teaching strategies to engage her students and make learning fun.

Tsen is an active member of the school community, participating in various school activities. Her involvement in the school community allows her to build strong relationships with her students, which is crucial for creating a supportive and caring educational environment. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and swimming.

Ms Anbarasi is an experienced and highly dedicated teacher with over a decade of teaching experience in international schools. She holds a Bachelor of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language from Management and Science University (MSU) in Malaysia. Ms Anbarasi has been teaching global perspectives and English as a second language to secondary students for the past 5 years.

Throughout her time in education, Ms Anbarasi has upheld the values of the educational institution she represents and values the fundamental principles of teaching. Ms Anbarasi believes that the goal of education should be to provide students with realistic learning experiences and equal opportunities that equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in life.

Ms Anbarasi is a firm believer in the power of new ideas to transform the way we think about education. She believes that a man’s mind, stretched by new ideas, may never return to its original dimensions. With this mindset, Ms Anbarasi encourages her students to challenge themselves and think outside the box.

In her free time, Ms Anbarasi enjoys reading books and engaging in painting and interior design projects. These hobbies reflect her creative side and her love for exploring new ideas and possibilities. Ms Anbarasi’s approach to teaching is exciting, innovative, and dynamic, and her students are fortunate to be inspired by such a passionate and dedicated educator.

Ms Joanna Dau Jacob is currently teaching at REAL International School in various grade levels. With a teaching experience spanning over eight years, including five years of part-time teaching at a center and three years in REAL Schools, Ms Joanna has honed her skills and developed a deep love for her profession.

Ms Joanna holds a Bachelor's degree in TESL (Education) from HELP University. She also completed a Foundation in Arts program from the same institution. Additionally, she is an Apple Teacher, showcasing her expertise in utilizing technology in the classroom to enhance the learning experience.

As a dedicated educator, Ms Joanna believes in building meaningful relationships with her students and creating a safe space for them to learn and grow. She employs a variety of teaching methods, such as differentiated learning, blended learning, and game-based learning, to cater to the diverse needs of her students. By doing so, she ensures that every student has the opportunity to actively participate in their own learning journey.

Leadership is a value that resonates with Ms Joanna, as she strongly believes in nurturing the next generation to become leaders of excellence. She strives to instill leadership qualities and empower her students to become future trailblazers.

Outside of the classroom, Ms Joanna enjoys various interests and hobbies. She is an avid reader of novels, indulges in snail mailing, loves to travel, and finds joy in flower arranging.

Ms Joanna has actively participated in professional development activities to enhance her teaching skills. She has completed S.A.M Bar Model 1 in 2017 and received training for Strategising Teaching Methods for Special Needs Children: The S.A.M Way in 2019. Moreover, she served as the Vice President of the TESL Student Body Council in 2018-2019 and coordinated the ICAS exams in 2021.

After completing her internship at REAL Schools in 2020, Ms Joanna was accepted as a full-time teacher, attesting to her exceptional teaching abilities. During her time at REAL School, she contributed to various school events and initiatives, including Speech Day Award 2021/2022, the Spelling Bee Competition 2022, and the organization of the "Character Parade" event for Primary School students. Additionally, she was a member of the Apple Tech Team in 2021.

With her wealth of experience, dedication, and passion for teaching, Ms Joanna Dau Jacob continues to make a positive impact on her students' lives, driving them towards academic excellence and personal growth.

Mr. Lakshman Rao specialises in Mathematics and Additional Mathematics. With a Master of Education in Mathematics from Glastonbury University and a Bachelor of Education in Mathematical Science, he possesses a strong academic background.

Mr. Rao firmly believes in understanding the respective topics through step-by-step explanations coupled with relevant methods and formulas. His aim is to ensure that his students grasp the core concepts and gain a comprehensive understanding of the subjects.

Mr. Rao creates a wonderful and engaging learning environment for his students. He has a knack for making his classes interactive and enjoyable, fostering enthusiasm and active participation among his students. His friendly and approachable nature encourages students to seek help and clarification without hesitation.

Mr. Rao emphasizes the importance of concentration, understanding, and practice in mastering Mathematics. He encourages his students to actively engage in the learning process by asking questions, participating in discussions, and solving problems. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications, Mr. Rao prepares his students for real-world problem-solving.

Ms Radin Nor Amalina teaches at REAL International School and specialises in teaching English, Maths, and Science. With a Bachelor's degree in Education (Hons) TESL from Management and Science University (MSU), she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her classroom.

Ms Radin started her teaching career as a specialist in Basic Reading and Writing skills. During this time, she used classical novels and storybooks as her main resources and learned various techniques in fun teaching. She gained experience teaching students of different age levels and enjoyed discovering new ways to make learning exciting and meaningful.

After three years, Ms Radin was offered a position as a Primary Teacher at REAL International School. She has been with the school for four years and continues to find joy in her work. At REAL, she has had the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects and was trusted to lead the KS1 teachers from 2020 to 2021.

Ms Radin believes that learning should be engaging and enjoyable. She loves having an energetic and active classroom and encourages her students to be competitive and always ready to learn. Incorporating games and fun activities into her lessons is a crucial part of her teaching style. Additionally, she places a strong emphasis on discipline, as she believes it is a key factor in achieving success.

One aspect that Ms Radin appreciates about REAL International School is the strong relationships between teachers and students, as well as among the teachers themselves. She also admires the support the school provides, allowing teachers to be creative in their teaching methods.

Outside of the classroom, Ms Radin has a variety of interests and hobbies. She enjoys travelling, hiking, creating arts and crafts, interior design, and working with flowers. These passions help her to maintain a well-rounded and balanced lifestyle.

One memorable event organized by Ms Radin and the KS1 teachers was called A Day Without Books. This event replaced the traditional field trip during the MCO period and aimed to rekindle the students' excitement for learning after being confined to online lessons for almost two years. The event included a range of fun activities such as Zumba dance, engaging Science experiments, cookie baking, mind challenge activities, arts and crafts, and a movie session. It was a highly successful event, and the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Ms Radin is a great inspiration to her students and aspires to be a superior teacher who not only provides knowledge but also motivates and inspires her students to achieve greatness. As she always says, "The great teacher inspires."
