Ms Puspa Devi is a dedicated and passionate teacher who has been teaching Mathematics at REAL Schools - Secondary Lower Secondary for over five years. She holds a Master of Education in Mathematics from University Teknology Malaysia, as well as a Diploma in Accounting and a Bachelor of Education.
Ms Puspa's journey with Sri Cahaya school and her students began in 2016, when she joined as a Mathematics teacher. Throughout her teaching career, she has noticed that many students have a negative perspective towards the subject. They often view Mathematics as difficult, irrelevant, and boring. However, Ms Puspa sees this as an opportunity to change their perception by sharing her own love for the subject with her students.
She firmly believes that Mathematics provides students with a clear goal to strive for, and she finds great joy in witnessing her students' excitement when they successfully solve problems and reach their goals. Ms Puspa also understands that her role as a teacher enables her to instill confidence in her students and contribute to their character development, which greatly enriches her experience in the classroom.
Ms Puspa's dedication to her profession is inspired by a quote from A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, which states, "Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual. If the people remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honor for me."
Outside of her teaching responsibilities, Ms Puspa enjoys spending time with her kids. She believes in the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance in order to provide her students with the best education possible.
In recognition of her outstanding dedication and commitment to her students' education, Ms Puspa was honored as the Outstanding Teacher of the Year in 2021.
One of Ms Puspa's recent assignments involved designing a robot using a combination of shapes, such as a cube, cuboid, prism, pyramid, cylinder, cone, and sphere. She encouraged her students to create these shapes themselves, and they were even allowed to combine three-dimensional shapes to enhance their creativity and problem-solving skills.
Ms Puspa's passion for teaching and her innovative approach to Mathematics education have made her a beloved and respected educator at REAL Schools - Secondary Lower Secondary. Her ability to inspire her students and create a positive learning environment is a testament to her exceptional teaching skills and dedication to her students' success.
