Reflecting on his time at REAL Schools, Zhang Xian describes it as an enriching experience filled with unforgettable moments. One of his most cherished memories is simply spending time with his best friend, Chia Ming Feng, whether they were studying, playing, or chatting together. But Zhang Xian was also deeply committed to his studies, he frequently sought out teachers to clarify topics and ask questions about subjects he was eager to understand better. This curiosity became a cornerstone of his academic success.
Influential Teachers
One teacher in particular left a lasting impression on Zhang Xian is Mr. Soo. His Chemistry and Additional Mathematics teacher. "Mr. Soo taught in such an interesting way," he says. "He organized key points and showed me how to tackle exam questions." Mr. Soo’s guidance went beyond academics. As Zhang Xian’s mentor and class teacher, he provided practical life advice, teaching him how to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with others.
Pursuing Higher Education
After completing his studies at REAL Schools, Zhang Xian chose to attend Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), a top 200 global institution renowned for its engineering programs. Inspired by a desire to pursue a career in engineering, he enrolled in UTM’s Foundation in Physical Science program as a stepping stone toward his goal. The foundation course offered him a comprehensive base, and he now plans to specialize in electrical engineering, a field he feels is the perfect fit for his skills and ambitions.
The Transition to University Life
Transitioning from REAL Schools to university life came naturally to Zhang Xian. Living in the school hostel allowed him to easily attend classes and immerse himself in university life. He found the university’s larger social environment exciting and quickly made new friends, often working in groups on projects and assignments that encouraged collaboration and camaraderie.
