In March this year, KidZania Kuala Lumpur – the award-winning indoor educational and entertainment theme park – launched its inaugural ‘KidZaniaCongreZZ’, with 20 children being sworn into ‘office’. Among these select few (out of over 200 who applied) was Junior 3 student from R.E.A.L Schools, Suria Campus, Cheras – Clement Tan Tze Yu.
‘CongreZZ’ is the legislative governmental body of KidZania, overseen by 20 children who are its elected representatives and naturalised citizens. The CongreZZ kids meet quarterly to share ideas and voice opinions in order to keep KidZania’s spirit alive and socially relevant. Among the topics discussed by the kids include issues pertaining to the media, entertainment, education, literature, as well as the main concerns affecting tourists and citizens of KidZania.
Only the most deserving of candidates are elected into office, with candidates having had to go through a tough selection process that begins with a résumé submission, video submission and finally a face-to-face interview with a panel of judges. Elected CongreZZ kids were judged based on their aptitude in the areas of education, communication skills, sociability, creativity, respectfulness, articulation, as well as overall personality attributes.
The benefits of being a CongreZZ member include participation and decision making on activity enhancement at KidZania, owning an exclusive ‘Office Package’ that consists of a backpack, T-shirt, badge and stationary, a plaque in recognition of service, and complimentary monthly admission into KidZania Kuala Lumpur for the CongreZZ Kid and four friends.
Kudos to Clement Tan for being successfully elected into the distinguished CongreZZ! You have made the school proud and may you serve your term with distinction and honour.
