On a bright and early Sunday morning of 22 March 2015 at Taman Jaya, Petaling Jaya, more than half of R.E.A.L Schools, Cahaya Campus, Shah Alam’s Running Club members geared up to participate in the ‘Thirsty Runner 2015 – Run for Every Drop’ race.
This event was in conjunction with World Water Day 2015 and organized by the Water and Energy Consumer Association of Malaysia (WECAM) along with several of its partners. With the primary goal of encouraging a healthy lifestyle, the initiative’s other aim was to raise awareness and educate the general public on the importance of water sustainability, the sustainable development of Malaysia, and the basic human rights of having access to clean water.
Among the total of 18 Cahayan participants in the 3.5km ‘Fun Run’ category for runners aged 13 years and above, five claimed a top 10 spot while one finished in the top 20. The best performer from the Cahaya group went to Hannah Marie Samuel, who clinched 5th place in the category. Congratulations to all the Cahaya Running Club runners for finishing the race but most of all for participating, with special thanks going out to all the sponsors of the club.
