Every year, Cambridge International Examinations organizes the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards Ceremony to celebrate and recognize high performing students that show impressive growth and exceptional academic achievement. This year, the prestigious awards ceremony was held on 27 November 2017 at Hotel Armada in Petaling Jaya.
R.E.A.L International School (RIS), Cheras Campus had cause for celebration when one of its Year 11 students, Tang Rui Kien, obtained a ‘Top in the World’ grade in Mathematics (Without Coursework) in the June 2017 Cambridge IGCSE examinations. Present to accept his award at the ceremony, he was accompanied by his parents and Principal of RlS Cheras Campus, Ms. Catharine Sandanasamy.
Rui Kien’s achievement is extremely impressive, considering that last year more than one million students sat for the Cambridge examinations in over 10,000 schools around the world; including the UK, USA, China, India, and Singapore; as well as throughout Europe, South America, and the Middle East. Thus, achieving a ‘Top in the World’ grade in any subject is no mean feat due to the global popularity of the Cambridge IGCSE qualification and participation in the exams.
With a proven track record of educational excellence and proud tradition in the IGCSE especially, R.E.A.L International Schools is proud to lead many students into continuing their scholarly pursuits at leading universities worldwide. Their success reflects hard work, determination, perseverance, enthusiasm, and passion in achieving academic success; while demonstrating the dedication and commitment of the teachers as well.
