Students from R.E.A.L Schools Cheras Campus visited Charis Home in Kuala Lumpur to spend quality time with the residents.
A total of 35 students from the school interacted with 45 children from the home. The programme started with ice-breaking activites such as Word Search and Sand Art. Students from the school also performed several dances to entertain the residents. They brought personalised gifts which they bought with their own money to give to the children.
The programme ended with the singing of Christmas carols and a photo session followed by a scruptious lunch. R.E.A.L Schools Cheras Campus also donated dry rations to the home. School counsellor Pinky Kaur said the objective of the programme was to inculcate values like compassion among the students.
“I believe in educating children by applying their knowledge to real-life situations. Activities such as this allow them to have empathy for those who are less privileged,” she said.
