It was a momentous day for R.E.A.L Schools recently when both its campuses received recognition in the form of the ‘Quality Standards for Private Educational Institutions Award’ or Anugerah Standard Kualiti institusi Pendidikan Swasta (SKIPS) 2015.
Both R.E.A.L International Schools from Cheras and Shah Alam garnered accolades in the ‘International School’ category while Sekolah Seri Suria and Sekolah Seri Cahaya each bagged the ‘Private School (Primary)’ and ‘Private School (Secondary)’ awards. In addition, Cheras Campus managed to successfully obtain a second ‘5-star’ SKIPS rating in a row following its first three years ago.
The award ceremony took place on the 10th of May 2016 at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) Plenary Hall. It was graced by Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Haji Ahmad Tajudin bin Jab, Timbalan Ketua Pengarah Pelajaran Malaysia of Sektor Operasi Pendidikan (SOP) under the Ministry of Education (MOE) Malaysia, who duly gave away the awards to all delighted and deserving recipients.
The overall performance of R.E.A.L Schools in this latest edition of SKIPS is testament to the vast strides and improvement the campuses have made in recent years. These coveted awards, based on pure merit and strict criteria, are part of MOE Malaysia’s initiative to assist and develop all Malaysian private educational institutions to be globally competitive. This is also in line with the government’s mission to achieve world-class education through learning institutions of exceptional quality.
Thus, SKIPS was established to evaluate and grade every private and international school in the country by implementing a rating system that determines the quality standards of each school; and to award schools that meet these set quality standards with a ‘star rating’. SKIPS is also tasked with ensuring that all private schools nationwide comply with the Education Act 1996 (Act 550) and other related laws, policies and regulations. With SKIPS seeking to grow a cluster of premier private schools in Malaysia, R.E.A.L Schools is well on its way towards achieving this select status through constant and sustainable development.
