Seeking to always serve its communities better, the middle of this year saw R.E.A.L Education Group sealing an agreement with its latest education partner, Trine University, to present a unique opportunity to current and future students of R.E.A.L International School to experience further studies abroad at a reputable American university.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was held at R.E.A.L Schools, Shah Alam Campus between Mr. Ee Ching Wah, President of R.E.A.L Education Group and Dr. Stephen Sim, Vice President for International Affairs and Associate Professor of Management at Trine University. Significantly, this agreement marks the maiden collaboration between Trine and a Malaysian school.
In his speech, Mr. Ee Ching Wah revealed the benefits R.E.A.L students will stand to gain from this partnership. “R.E.A.L students would be glad to know that Trine graduates are much sought after and boast a 99.5% employment rate; with top companies like Rolls Royce being among their chief employers by recruiting Trine’s final year engineering students every six months. Such demand or marketability speaks volumes of Trine’s reputation and quality,” he said.
“To further add value to this initiative, interested students in Year 10 and 11 would be able to take up 10 modules of Trine’s First Year subjects here in Malaysia prior to going overseas. This is equivalent to 33 credit hours of the programme,” he added. This special arrangement ensures that R.E.A.L students would be able to save time and money when pursuing their degree courses at Trine.
With more than 130 years of history, Trine University offers educational experience and expertise that very few institutions can match, particularly by its Faculty of Engineering which is ranked among the Top 122 in the United States. Trine is also renowned for other courses such as Education, Arts, Business, Health Sciences and professional studies.
With former Malaysian Minister of Energy, Water and Communications Dato’ Seri Shaziman Abu Mansor counting himself as among Trine University’s illustrious alumni, it is hoped that R.E.A.L students would follow in his footsteps and add a greater Malaysian presence to the list.
