Judo Joy for Surian Double Medallist

This year, Senior 2 student Lai ChianYeow from R.E.A.L Schools, Suria Campus, Cheras was selected to participate in both the Trisakti Open 2014 and Hong Kong International Judo Championship 2014. These global judo meets were held in Jakarta, Indonesia from 14 to 18 May 2014 and in Hong Kong, China from 10 to 14 July 2014 respectively.

ChianYeow successfully etched his name in R.E.A.L Schools history by bagging a gold medal in Hong Kong and a bronze medal in Jakarta. He won both medals in his respective weight division under the Junior Male category. ChianYeow’s twin triumphs came as little surprise considering the huge potential and promise that he has shown in the sport. He is also an active member of Suria Campus’ various other co-curricular activities.

ChianYeow’s participation and progress in a diverse range of extracurricular endeavours is testament to R.E.A.L Schools’ philosophy of providing a truly balanced education. The results or outcome of this practice are students like ChianYeow, who constantly display all-round attributes in excelling academically as well as pursuing their passion and interests.
