International School

RECOGNIZED AND REPUTABLE EDUCATION

_

R.E.A.L International School delivers British education based on the UK national curriculum from Primary to Secondary level. We offer world-renowned programmes by the Cambridge International Examination (CIE) which is taken in over 160 countries worldwide. It provides broad and flexible fields of study, covering a wide range of subjects designed to equip students with varying levels of ability.

HIGH PERFORMERS

_

We have successfully achieved a proven track record with consistent delivery of high achievers in the Cambridge IGCSE examinations year after year. Many students graduated from REAL international school have been accepted into premier colleges and universities around the world such as the London School of Economics, National University of Singapore, University of Birmingham and University of Auckland, just to name a few.

PASTORAL CARE & SUPPORT

_

We limit our numbers to fewer than 25 students per class to ensure ample personal attention is given to each individual. Even during after-class hours, our teachers are always available and ready to show care, whether it is counselling or providing remedial support to assist students in achieving their expected competencies.

ACTIVE LEARNING

_

We want to maintain an active interplay between theory and real-life practices. For example, the school organizes annual humanitarian trips to other countries, apart from various social outreach and community services, to widen their perspective and appreciation towards life. These include overseas student exchange and homestay programmes to Germany, Korea and Japan.

KEY STAGES

_

Students are normally admitted into the appropriate year group, according to the National Curriculum of England.

Early Years : Preschool

_

Ages: 3 – 4

Children in preschool learn in a rich and stimulating environment which fuels enthusiasm for learning. Leveraging on the concept of Multiple Intelligences (MI), the main goal is to identify and acknowledge the different, inherent strengths and interests of each individual child; and teaching them based on these strengths.

Ours is a full programme that incorporates thematic learning along with international curriculum elements to prepare students for a continuous pathway into primary education. The curriculum begins with learning and exploration through play.

Our students are encouraged to tap on their natural curiosity to discover the world. In addition to mathematics, science and literacy; other areas such as character values, social and emotional skills are practiced and embedded into daily routine. As such, students flourish and gain confidence as they grow.

Primary : Key Stage 1 & 2

_

Ages : 5 – 11

Cambridge Primary (Year 1 – 6) is a purpose-built curriculum for children aged 5 – 11. The programme ensures that the core subjects of the UK National Curriculum like English, Mathematics and Science are taught to a level that enables smooth progress into Secondary education.

At this stage, our students develop a respect and love for learning, while acquiring a solid base of skills and knowledge. It is our intention to give this energetic age group a full and well-rounded programme in not just academic subjects, but also various interesting activities and educational field trips for them to actively explore.

Each student at Primary level is a member of a ‘homeroom’, a place where they develop strong relationships with dedicated teachers and their classmates. This contributes towards creating a sense of belonging and learning within a community.

Secondary : Key Stage 3 & 4

_

Ages : 11 – 16

At Secondary level, we strive to create a culture where curiosity is nurtured and student success is driven by a sense of genuine engagement with learning. It is also important that our students develop a sense of humility through exposure to a diversity of real-life experiences; leading them to want to make a difference by thinking critically and acting creatively.

Cambridge Secondary 1 (Year 7 – 9) is designed for students aged approximately 11 – 14 years old. It builds on the Primary curriculum, and develops students’ knowledge and understanding in Mathematics, English and Science. At the end of Year 9 (Key Stage 3), students can sit for the Cambridge Checkpoint Test before progressing into the IGCSE programme.

Cambridge Secondary 2 (Year 10 & 11) is typically for students aged 14 – 16 years old. We offer students the Cambridge IGCSE, which provides a broad and balanced field of study using learner-centred and enquiry-based approaches to learning.

Students who obtain an IGCSE qualification are set for future academic success, including progression to A-Levels or IB studies, and are equipped with the skills needed for either immediate employment or further studies.
