As Primary 6 students across Malaysia prepare for their most important exam of the year, the ‘Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah’ or UPSR; R.E.A.L Schools, Cahaya Campus, Johor Bahru decided to organize a free, one-day-only English workshop that is open to the public.
The morning of 11 July 2015 saw a total 500 Primary 6 students from SJK (C) Chong Hwa 1, 2 & 3, SJK (C) Pa Yai and SJK (C) Ping Ming pack the school halls of SJK (C) Chong Hwa 2 in Kluang, Johor for the event. Going beyond an hour, discussions between experienced facilitators and the eager students were lively and interactive. This fulfills the aim of holding a workshop, where students are able to tap on the knowledge and experience of facilitators who offer viewpoints and approaches towards a particular subject that may be different from what they learn in school.
Community-based projects such as this typify the educational philosophy of R.E.A.L and our mission of transforming lives. To that end, we believe that every effort, no matter how big or small, counts towards achieving a long-term goal or objective. As we move forward every year, we remain determined and steadfast in our efforts to bring real transformation to our youth and communities.
